The world’s best swimming pools stand out for a reason, often for their sun-drenched azure waters, sublime setting and ability to bring us close to nature.
Blessed with all these qualities, Badrutt’s Palace has created the ultimate al fresco swimming oasis. Perfectly nestled in the lush gardens of the hotel, this all-new vitality pool enjoys a one-of-a-kind view over Lake St. Moritz as well as the enchanting forests and majestic mountains of the Swiss Alps.
The new spacious outdoor heated pool – an impressive 200 square metres (2,153 square feet) in size – opened for the start of Badrutt’s Palace’s 2024 summer season. It is the largest and most modern outdoor hotel pool in St. Moritz and marks the first stage of a larger renovation project to transform the Palace Wellness facilities at the hotel.
“There is a new emphasis on wellness among our guests,” explains Sergio Fagioli, Director of Rooms. “They want a relaxing break, but they also want to have experiences that make them feel healthier, happier and rejuvenated. And with more guests enjoying our indoor pool, we felt it was the perfect time to build one outdoors.”
Close to nature
Wellbeing is at the heart of the new outdoor pool at Badrutt’s Palace. Its enchanting lakeside position, surrounded by scenic mountain vistas, provides an instant connection to nature. As you slip into the sun-drenched turquoise waters, you feel relaxed, happy and on top of the world. Science tells us that spending time in or near water is good for our mental wellbeing and warmed to a comfortable 36 °C (96.8°F), the pool is the perfect spot to tap into its healing powers. The picture-perfect haven is enhanced by unique features, including floating loungers, perfect for catching the sun’s rays. Massaging water jets in the pool are designed to work their magic on different muscles in the body, from the neck to the feet. Additionally, an innovative smaller pool, accessible from the main pool, is filled with very fine bubbles that are softer and gentler than a regular jet, leaving skin feeling both soothed and hydrated.
It is easy to spend long, serene summer days at Badrutt’s Palace. Dipping in and out of the pool as you relax on a lounger on the sun terrace, sipping a glass of something special while gazing at the enchanting views. Even better, why not enjoy a leisurely lunch of Mediterranean-inspired food at the La Diala Restaurant and take in a direct view of Lake St. Moritz as you enjoy the fresh delights of the Paleo Cobb Salad or a healthy vegan Buddha Bowl?
And, in winter, as the temperature in the pool rises, you will discover that there is nothing more magical than swimming al fresco under the stars, especially if it is snowing. Perfect after a day at the slopes.
A day by the pool is always one well spent and when you are surrounded by the serenity and natural wonders of the Swiss Alps it is truly one to remember.
