The new design equation

Christopher Raxxy’s exceptional quilted creations have made their mark on catwalks, from Milan Fashion Week to the Great Wall of China, where it became the first Chinese brand to walk the runway on this global landmark.

The exciting news is that Raxxy is making its European retail debut in St. Moritz this winter, as part of an exclusive partnership this winter with high-end retailer MODES at its boutique in the fashionable Swiss mountain resort. Committed to taking risks with exciting new labels, the retailer is also showcasing the Chinese designer’s pieces from its Fall/Winter 2023 collection in its Paris and Milan stores.

The story of Raxxy

By its very nature, fashion is constantly evolving, with new styles finding their way to the forefront as quickly as they are replaced by the next trend. What is more unusual though, is to find a brand that defies conventions and pushes the boundaries of design and construction.

Take the luxury label Christopher Raxxy. Ever since it burst onto the scenes in 2020, it has been making waves as one of the industry’s most dynamic and boldest names.

Raxxy is the brainchild of William Shen, who is the world’s first mathematical genius and fashion designer. Enjoying a passion for mathematics, Shen began to think his future would be in fashion after he finished university, where he studied economics. As he explains: “After graduating… I decided I wanted to follow my dreams and I started thinking how I could use the logical thinking of mathematics to carve out a new approach to fashion. Mathematical rigour combined with an artistic vision is at the base of Raxxy.”

Three-dimensional approach

At its core, Raxxy strives to combine cutting-edge technology with traditional Chinese culture, art and craftsmanship, such as bamboo-weaving and paper-cutting. By crossing mathematical and logical thinking with fashion design, Raxxy has introduced a new futuristic aesthetics of sculptural puffer pieces, adorned with colourful geometric patterns and striking three-dimensional motifs.

Shen explains: “[We have introduced] mathematical algorithms into fashion design to break traditional fashion boundaries and create a new 3D structural fashion approach.

“By exploring the spatial dimensions of mathematics, we have opened new horizons in the world of fashion.”
